Paterson, New Jersey was the leading production center in the United States. Here more than 24,000 workers were employed in over 300 mills at the industry's peak before the First World War and the latter advent of synthetics. Life and Times in Silk city conveys the impact of the silk industry utilizing unique historical photographs which celebrate the people of Silk City - their entrepreneural abilities, skill, craftsmanship and independance. 11"x8.5" 59p.
