The 38th Annual Sol Stetin Awards Gala, Nov. 18th & Online Silent Auction
The American Labor Museum/Botto House National Landmark is proud to announce that this year's Sol Stetin Awards will be presented to Elizabeth Powell, Secretary-Treasurer of the American Postal Workers Union (APWU), AFL-CIO and Elise Bryant, President of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) at its 38th Annual Awards Gala. This event will be held on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 starting at 7:30pm via ZOOM.
This year's honorees will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the well-being of working people. Elizabeth "Liz" Powell, who beame the first and only female member of the APWU National Executive Board in 1989, currently represents over 200,000 employees, retirees and families of the United States Postal Service. Elise Bryant, a member of the Communications Workers of America, leads CLUW in its efforts to empower women for greater particiaption at all levels in the labor movement; to organize the unorganized; to promote affirmative action, social and economic justice in the workplace; and to increase the participation of women in the political and legislative process.
The Annual Sol Stetin Awards Hybrid Gala is a major fundraiser for the American Labor Museum. The Awards are named for Mr. Stetin who was president of the Textile Workers' Union of America (TWUA) and a founder of the Museum.
The general public is invited to attend the Annual Sol Stetin Awards Gala $75. (virtual) per person. A Commemorative Journal will record the names of individuals, businesses and organizations who make donations to the Museum. An Online Silent Auction will be available from Tuesday, November 11th through Thursday, November 19th, 2020 until 5PM, offering an additional opportunity to support the Museum and take home terrific gifts, artwork and collectibles.
